The new office building of Dicht women’s clothing brand Studio Anneloes in Amsterdam Osdorp was recently completed. Together with Heembouw Architecten and contractor Heembouw Kantoren, they took the first step for the design, after which Pelecon was soon engaged for the structural issue.
In particular, the canopy at the front of the building, but also the heart of the office where the showroom is located, needed thorough structural support. Mainly because of the limited building height from the zoning plan, a compact construction was chosen for the building, with small spans and integrated steel girders.

A beautiful building, full of challenges for us as structural engineers. This is how we describe the new headquarters of the Nederlandse Coöperatieve Vereniging van Makelaars en Taxateurs in onroerende goederen (NVM).

We have since completed many automotive assignments. For several of these assignments we have worked with partner #Mies Architectuur. For us a fine sparring partner with a lot of knowledge and where half a word is enough. This results for our client in a complete advice in which the visual and structural design fit together seamlessly.

The new distribution center in Echt-Susteren has been delivered to P3 Logistic Parks and clearly shows what Pelecon structural engineers can do in the field of building structures. The structural engineering consultancy with offices in Gouda and Amersfoort was involved in this project from the early stages by Dokvast and Heembouw Architects. Pelecon is responsible for the calculations, drawings and inspection of the complete steel structure.

Harders Plaza in Harderwijk is a place that Pelecon knows like the back of its hand. Years ago, we provided structural advice for the transformation of the ice rink into a go-kart track with party center. This mainly concerned the parking decks that had to be placed in the old ice hockey hall in order to give the building a new function. Extra nice that we were also approached again for the constructive advice for the new building on this site. The go-kart track and conference center were demolished and made way for phase 1 of a new shopping complex.

For our client Vida-XL, we calculated the structure of their new distribution center in Horst aan de Maas. This concerns phase 4 of the storage building of over 150,000 m² GLA on a footprint of 123,000 m² in total. What is unique is the size of the building together with the logistics bridge, which connects phase 3 to phase 4 over the public road.

The partially transparent barracks fit the firefighters like a glove. Moreover, from the circular concrete foundation to the roof, the building is sustainably designed and built.
Together with architect RoosRos Architecten and contractor BMN De Klerk we formed the construction team of the new fire station of Papendrecht. An intensive period of designing resulted in the start of construction at the end of August 2020. The building is located on the same site right next to the municipal yard that was also designed by us.

Right next to Oisterwijk’s train station is the old Leesten factory. This has been expanded with a future-proof, smart and sustainable business building. Meanwhile, the first tenants have moved into the full-service office units. Next to and connected to the existing Leesten factory, which is already serving as a business building, a dynamic working environment has been created on three floors with many shared facilities.

Surely this was a gem of an assignment to work on. Above the Rituals, on the corner of Kleiweg – Turfweg in Gouda, five homes were completed in December 2020. The renovation of this old building in the city centre started with a survey. The upper floors of the property had not been used for the last 30 years and were poorly maintained, making them dilapidated. The owner very much wanted to know whether a combination of shopping and living could be realised. Pelecon calculated all the existing structures and made a structural calculation for the renewed structure.

Because Rotterdam The Hague Airport’s old 1970 departure hall was outdated and becoming too small, a need arose for a new terminal. A terminal with a much larger capacity, but which had to fit in well with the character and image of the airport. Not a megalomaniac anonymous building, but a pleasant building with plenty of daylight, designed to make passengers feel comfortable. A sustainable building too, including a mossedum roof.
