As a strategic partner of construction company Heembouw, Pelecon calculated and drew the structure for Hordijk Verpakkingen’s new premises. The new building is located directly opposite the existing site on Daalderweg in Zaandam. The steel-built hall has a surface area of 22,500 m2, the office section comprises 1,300 m2.

Fire station Rotterdam The Hague Airport
Pelecon has been doing construction work for Rotterdam The Hague Airport for 20 years. Besides the departure hall, Pelecon is also collaborating on the construction of the fire station. “We did our utmost, with respect for the design by Moen & van Oosten Architects and drawing on our broad experience, to come up with the best and most beautiful structural design possible for the fire station,” says Piet Peters of Pelecon.

Heembouw offices, Berkel & Rodenrijs
How cool is it when you get to work on the new premises of one of your best partners? Well, that’s what we experienced. We were approached by Heembouw Kantoren to make the structural calculations for their new office in Berkel en Rodenrijs. What is unique about this new office is that it is largely constructed from circular building products.
Expansion distribution centre Bol.com, Waalwijk
Bol.com’s new distribution centre in Waalwijk was completed in July, currently the (mechanical) fit-out is being finalised after which the first packages are expected to roll off the conveyor belt in 2021. Pelecon was involved early on by architecture and engineering firm DENC in designing a suitable structural design for the automated systems and to select the high-rise racking. “Based on this structural design as well as DENC’s aesthetic design, we advised, calculated and modelled the foundation and steel structure for the new building,” says Pelecon structural engineer Bastiaan Hoefnagel.

Commercial property Delektro and Van Ee, Ede
The magnificent Delektro and Van van Ee building shines right alongside the A12 motorway near Ede. Pelecon was involved as main contractor from the design phase to completion. A beautiful assignment for a high-profile building that matches the appearance of both companies and yet forms a single entity.
Delektro is an E-installer for Electrics, domotics, lighting, security installation and energy storage. Van van Ee (formerly Jumbo living comfort) is a supplier of exclusive garden rooms. Together with Mies Architectuur, they have designed a beautiful energy-neutral commercial building on the Schuttersveld industrial estate in Ede. The design includes a large space that appears to be constructed entirely of curtain walling. Over this large space, which is slightly rotated in relation to the A12 road axis, a large white roof with large roof overhangs was designed. On the left side (seen from the A12), the white wall is the support for the large roof structure, and the building contains many transitions between concrete, glass and steel. These are always tricky things, but Pelecon successfully worked out the structural design.

Canpack, Helmond
At CanPack in Helmond, they produce cans. A lot of cans. As a consultant, Pelecon has been with CanPack since its establishment in the Netherlands. Cans are made from very large, heavy rolls of metal, and the machinery is also quite something. So special foundations had to be made for that.
Metropolitan, Zuidas Amsterdam
In late 2018, the go-ahead was given to make the Metropolitan office on Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district more sustainable. The 1969 office comprises 10,000m2 and is being fully preserved to energy label A.
Ploeger Logistics, Harderwijk
Ploeger is growing rapidly in logistics services. To this end, they have built their logistics warehouse in Harderwijk in three phases. The company is further expanding its warehouse in Harderwijk by another 11,220 m² GLA. On Bellstraat, the logistics service provider had these additional square metres added to meet the growing demand of its existing and new clients.
