From Dijkham Bouw BV, Pelecon received the order to engineer the new commercial building for Rootselaar. Tankbouw Rootselaar, part of the Rootselaar Group, designs and manufactures pressure vessels for (liquefied) gas, oil and industrial gases. They serve customers all over the world from Nijkerk. Their approach exudes functionality and innovation, regardless of the level of complexity of their clients’ requests.

This is a hall with heavy-duty 50-ton crane tracks to lift the heavy tanks. Combining the large crane tracks and overhead doors was a challenge. By cleverly playing with dimensions and profiles, we eventually managed to fit everything into the building without compromising the client’s wishes. By largely using high-strength steel, the kilograms of steel are reduced and with it the emissions for production. Moreover, the structure is fully demountable which facilitates recycling and reuse.

In a short time we created a constructively beautiful design that fully meets the client’s requirements. Rootselaar has now put the building into use.

In Veenendaal, the Jan Zandbergen Group has built a new food development centre. Zandbergen is a European player in meat and vegetable meat substitutes. In which innovative developments are the order of the day. Their growing ambition and place within the market created the need for a new development location. Thanks to Pelecon’s long-standing relationship with the Jan Zandbergen Group, we were also engaged for this project as consultants from the design phase through to the detailed calculations of the construction.

Tyson Foods, Oosterwolde

Since the end of last year, we have been working as main structural engineer for Tyson Foods. They are building a new factory in Oosterwolde totaling 4,500 m2. Here they are building their fast-growing portfolio of protein-focused brands. That means we’re not just building any factory here, but one where food safety is very important. To which Tyson’s customers in particular also attach great importance. That also makes demands on the construction. The large amount of air treatment requires heavy cabinets on the structure. Such freezer halls are a real speciality of Pelecon Amersfoort. If it is -25 degrees inside, that makes specific demands on the structure.

Maarssen is home to the Meijers family’s metal industry Qumey. Some 50 years ago, they built their first building on Handelsweg in Maarssen. In recent years, the company has grown steadily, making expansion of the premises inevitable. Three modern production halls were therefore added and the office area was substantially expanded. A whole that meets all ultramodern requirements of today and the future!

Abbott Laboratories, Zwolle

To expand an entire production line, Abbott needed not only a new utility building, but also a complete pipe bridge over the existing production site in Zwolle. And this while production could also continue as usual. For the contractor, this meant that during a clean-up period he had a week to make piles in the existing building and leave everything clean again. The next period, the roof could then be opened for heavy, steel columns. Then the bridge sections with pipes already in them were lifted into place. Besides the pipe bridge, there were also various extensions of floors, silos and transport facilities.

Canpack, Helmond

At CanPack in Helmond, they produce cans. A lot of cans. As a consultant, Pelecon has been with CanPack since its establishment in the Netherlands. Cans are made from very large, heavy rolls of metal, and the machinery is also quite something. So special foundations had to be made for that.
