Ploeger Logistics
Harderwijk
From design to implementation

Ploeger is growing rapidly in logistics services. To this end, they have built their logistics warehouse in Harderwijk in three phases. The company is further expanding its warehouse in Harderwijk by another 11,220 m² GLA. On Bellstraat, the logistics service provider had these additional square metres added to meet the growing demand of its existing and new clients.

Pelecon advised on the main supporting structures. With a foundation on steel and a very economical steel structure, the project was soon feasible. Each phase already anticipated the next phase. Sometimes with a firewall, sometimes with a cantilever construction. The last phase also included an office section. With a number of special eye-catchers.

Hypermodern
When construction is completed at the end of 2021, Ploeger will have a hypermodern warehouse. This will bring the total capacity at two locations in Harderwijk to over 55,000 pallet spaces. Like Ploeger Logistics' existing warehouses, this new warehouse will be energy-neutral. Something that fits in perfectly with their mission and vision. This expansion therefore meets high BREEAM requirements. In fact, the entire warehouse will be the most sustainable in the region!

Sustainability ambition
Naturally, our structural design takes Ploeger's sustainability ambition into account. The roofs are capable of supporting a large number of solar panels and the highly economical construction ensures minimal use of materials.

Our challenge
A unique challenge for Pelecon was the issue of how to optimise the foundation and how to build the entire logistics building in three phases. Whereby the construction of phase 1 was already prepared for the extensions. Looking back on the consultancy, we are satisfied with the result. We will remain involved in the supervisory role until the end of 2021, aiming for an equally satisfied view of the final result by then.

There was close and pleasant cooperation with both architect Bronsvoort Blaak and builder Dijkham Bouw.
