Leestenfabriek
Oisterwijk
A future-proof, smart and sustainable business building

Right next to Oisterwijk’s train station is the old Leesten factory. This has been expanded with a future-proof, smart and sustainable business building. Meanwhile, the first tenants have moved into the full-service office units. Next to and connected to the existing Leesten factory, which is already serving as a business building, a dynamic working environment has been created on three floors with many shared facilities.

The existing building with its masonry facades is partially continued in the new building section. In the design of architect Quadrant4 a lot of greenery has been added. The green facades rise above the planters on the second floor. Immediately after the entrance, a large open space was created for a brasserie, which is also directly adjacent to the existing building. Inside, too, there is plenty of room for greenery. On the façade sides over three floors are free-standing spaces for offices. On the second floor is also a large space for a roof terrace.

The client's wish is to keep the building flexible as much as possible. Therefore, a column structure was chosen in the building design that is composed of concrete-filled steel columns, integrated floor beams in combination with hollow-core slabs. The design of the structure came entirely from Pelecon.
