Distribution center VIDA XL approved!

FOR OUR CLIENT VIDA-XL THIS WEEK ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE, THE FOUNDATION STRIPS AND POWERS OF THEIR NEW DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN HORST AAN DE MAAS WERE CHECKED. IT CONCERNS PHASE 4 OF THE STORAGE BUILDING OF OVER 150,000 M² GFA ON A FOOTPRINT OF A TOTAL 123,000 M².

The uniqueness is the size of the building together with the logistics bridge, which connects phase 3 to phase 4 over the public road. This bridge is still under preparation. Our conclusion after the visit: the construction site looks very neat!

POWERFUL CONSTRUCTION

The strength of the construction design is the cooperation of the portal trusses above the mezzanine in combination with the roof connections. Due to the length of the 6 building parts and the client’s wish not to use wind bracing in the building, it is certainly desirable to reduce the upward and horizontal forces in the side and intermediate walls. In this way we reduce a considerable amount of kilos of roof connections and the tensile forces on the side and intermediate walls, so that no tension piles are created.
