FOR OUR CLIENT BIEZE FOOD GROUP, WE WERE ALLOWED TO ADVISE ON YET ANOTHER PHASE 3 OF THE EXPANSION OF THEIR REFRIGERATION AND FREEZER LOGISTICS IN NIJKERK. AN ASSIGNMENT WHERE WE CAN PUT OUR SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE TO FULL USE, AS THE CONSTRUCTION FOR A FREEZER HALL IS SPECIAL.

The floor of a cold store is always constructed as a double floor, with heating in the lower foundation to prevent freezing through. This is followed by a thick layer of insulation and a top floor on which heavy racking can be placed. This latter floor shrinks as soon as the freezing machines (condensers) are switched on. At -25 degrees, the floor shortens by as much as several centimeters.

SPECIALISM
Pelecon specializes in refrigerated and frozen logistics. The Bieze Food Group is a loyal customer of Pelecon who likes to make use of this specialist knowledge. Once completed, their optimally developed logistics hotspot enables them to safely store, process and then transport their food in chilled condition.

For this assignment, we worked together with van Bokhorst Architects and contractor Dijkham Bouw; both from Nijkerk.

Distribution center P3 Logistic Park, Echt Susteren

Geplaatst op: 9 December 2021

The new distribution center in Echt-Susteren has been delivered to P3 Logistic Parks and clearly shows what Pelecon structural engineers can do in the field of building structures. The structural engineering consultancy with offices in Gouda and Amersfoort was involved in this project from the early stages by Dokvast and Heembouw Architects. Pelecon is responsible for the calculations, drawings and inspection of the complete steel structure.

VidaXL phase 4, Horst aan de Maas

Geplaatst op: 2 November 2021

For our client Vida-XL, we calculated the structure of their new distribution center in Horst aan de Maas. This concerns phase 4 of the storage building of over 150,000 m² GLA on a footprint of 123,000 m² in total. What is unique is the size of the building together with the logistics bridge, which connects phase 3 to phase 4 over the public road.

Green Mountains Logistics Park, Schiphol

Green Mountains Logistics Park consists of four warehouses and is an immense project on the former Groenland site near the Aalsmeer runway at Schiphol Airport. The first three warehouses have been officially completed and are in use. The fourth warehouse is wind and watertight, except for the shop floor. Because the tenant did not sign until the warehouse was ready, it is now being rebuilt to meet all the requirements of this new user.

High-rise warehouse CB, Culemborg

The number of orders is increasing, while the volume of orders is decreasing. A fully mechanised bin warehouse is a good solution for this, thought CB (formerly Centraal Broekhuis). They asked Denc and Pelecon to help think about the construction of the new high bay warehouse. We made all the main calculations, plan model and construction drawings.

Albert Heijn inaugurated its seventh Home Shop Center (HSC) in Bleiswijk exactly one week ago today, on 24 September. Nice to know that we also provided constructive support for Albert Heijn’s 5th HSC, which is in Amsterdam.

The new distribution centre has an area of 20,000 m² and will process 40,000 orders per week. Everything you can’t see about this building is what Pelecon has been working on. Partner at Pelecon: Mack Stolwijk talks about this great development.

Expansion distribution centre Bol.com, Waalwijk

Geplaatst op: 10 February 2020

Bol.com’s new distribution centre in Waalwijk was completed in July, currently the (mechanical) fit-out is being finalised after which the first packages are expected to roll off the conveyor belt in 2021. Pelecon was involved early on by architecture and engineering firm DENC in designing a suitable structural design for the automated systems and to select the high-rise racking. “Based on this structural design as well as DENC’s aesthetic design, we advised, calculated and modelled the foundation and steel structure for the new building,” says Pelecon structural engineer Bastiaan Hoefnagel.
