IT’S NOT ALWAYS THE BIG PROJECTS THAT IMPRESS, BUT THE SIMPLICITY OF THE SMALL PROJECTS ALL THE MORE. THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE OF THE HOUSE IN NIJKERKERVEEN FOR WHICH PELECON WAS ENGAGED AS STRUCTURAL ENGINEER BY LEGEMAAT DESIGNERS FROM VEENENDAAL. WE HAD TO ENSURE THAT THE BEAUTIFUL, UNIQUE DESIGN COULD ALSO BE REALIZED STRUCTURALLY. AND WE SUCCEEDED!
The main challenge in this design was to keep the design as simple as possible, with many possibilities for the future. We succeeded by using steel trusses. The basement had the great advantage that we could go straight to the load-bearing layer as a foundation.
But what could be more fun for us as structural engineers than an uncommon question? The search for solutions inspires and challenges us to go that extra mile. Ultimately it is very cool to see that the creative design can be implemented thanks to our constructive solutions.
